Illumio comes to Vertosoft’s contracts
Vertosoft, a public sector technology distributor, has announced a partnership with Illumio to bring its zero trust segmentation products to government customers. Vertosoft will offer Illumio through its existing contract vehicles and reseller network, making it easier for agencies to buy.
Why segmentation matters to agencies
Government networks, from federal agencies to city halls, are frequent targets. Segmentation limits how far an attacker can move after getting in, which is often what turns a single infected laptop into a full ransomware outbreak. Illumio’s products enforce those limits, and Vertosoft’s public sector reach could put them in front of more agencies.
The two companies
Vertosoft:
Vertosoft sells software to the public sector. Its real business is handling procurement for vendors, a process that in government can run for months and involve contract vehicles most commercial software firms have never dealt with.

Illumio:
Illumio is known for zero trust segmentation. Its software maps traffic between workloads and blocks connections that aren’t needed. A breach stays contained.
What agencies gain
Attackers keep finding new ways in, which is why containment matters as much as prevention. Adding Illumio’s Zero Trust Segmentation to Vertosoft’s portfolio gives public sector buyers another option for zero trust programs, which federal guidance now expects agencies to pursue.
What to watch
The real test is adoption. If agencies use the new purchasing path to deploy segmentation widely, ransomware attacks on government networks could do less damage. Agencies planning zero trust work now have one more way to buy it.
